  Chapter Six

“In my daydream, you told me that you were an alien. And I mean the outer-space kind of alien, not someone from another country here on Earth.” She bit her lip and glanced at him sheepishly.

  He nodded, encouraging her.

“You said your entire race could become extinct if you, and the others like you, didn’t complete their missions.”

He felt the color draining from his face. Thankfully Kaley didn’t notice.

“All of you had to find your soul mates and return with them.”

  “Did you return with me?”

“Yes, I did.” A tear gathered in her eye.

  “What’s the matter, Kaley?”

“We were completely, ecstatically and utterly in love. Our house was in the country. I worked at my writing. You had an important job. I can’t remember your title, but everyone respected you. One of our wedding vows had been that we never lie to each other. You insisted on it.”

  She sucked back a sniffle.

“We were married in your world and in mine, but we lived in your world. Whenever I got homesick and on holidays, we visited here on Earth.

“You and I made passionate love almost every day. Our love produced four children, two boys, and two girls. Each of our children had four children, and each of their children had four children. We lived to become great-great-grandparents. After all those years, we were still deeply in love. It was like living a fairy tale, we were so happy.”

A tear escaped its confines and made a slow trek over her cheek, past her nose, over the corner of her lip, and down her chin quickly followed by another and then another.

  “Are you all right, Kaley?”

She brushed the tears away and nodded. Her lips trembled.

“It felt so real. I want that life.”

Her eyes were filled with such longing.

“Would you believe me if I said I could give it to you?”

  “Yes.”

“Why? That would be a pretty fantastic statement.”

“You never lie. I know that in the depths of my soul.”

The chair made a scratching noise as he rose forcing it backward. Kaley stood and melted into his arms. He’d known this woman for a few short hours and yet he knew, with every fiber of his being, that he would spend the rest of his life with her. Her daydream had actually been a foretelling of their future together. A way to make her understand what was going to happen. He was relieved that it had been so easy.

  Chapter Seven

Kaley felt silly. She was crying over a daydream, but she could swear it had actually happened. Jerin seemed to understand. Who was this man that she’d just spent a lifetime with in her dream? A lifetime that she wished for with all of her heart and soul.

“Hush. It will be all right.”

His words soothed her and his hands wandered over her back in a comforting touch. She felt his muscled arms flex around her. The warmth of his breath on her neck changed the comforting touch into a sensuous caress. He must have sensed the change, too because he stroked her back pressing her into the entire length of him. His lips played at her neck producing a thrill of anticipation and made her knees go weak.

“Let’s go into the bedroom. I don’t want our first time to be on the kitchen floor,” he whispered as he lifted her into his arms.

“Put me down. I’m too heavy for you to carry.”

“Let me be the judge of that.”

He moved through the kitchen, across the landing and into his bedroom.

“You weigh nothing at all,” he said as he released her knees and allowed her feet to touch the floor. “You fit perfectly in my arms.”

“I noticed. It feels like home,” she said on a sigh.

“That’s a good way to put it. You feel like home to me.”

Kaley tilted her head. No man had ever looked at her like this before. Adoration, hunger, possessiveness, desire, contentment, love, and commitment shone in those cobalt eyes. It was the same look she’d seen in her daydream. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye as joy and a feeling of belonging filled her heart.

  “No more tears, love.”

  “These are tears of joy.”

He smiled and kissed a drop. “Joy tastes salty.”

A soft sigh escaped her lips as a line of sumptuous kisses was drawn from her earlobe to the base of her neck. Her head drifted to the side and backward giving him access to her throat. Love bites and sensual kisses were generously applied to the newly exposed area.

“Let down your hair for me, Kaley,” he whispered. He held her for a moment before he sat on the bed and removed his shoes.

From his seated position, he touched her. His warm palm and long fingers closed around her taut breasts. Nipples struggled into peaks beneath the unyielding Lycra of her top. “I’d like to touch these if I may.”

“I’d like that. I want to feel your hands on my body. And I want to touch you,” she said.

Jerin left the bed to stand before her. She began to unbutton his shirt.

Her tight shirt impeded his progress. “I’m going to need help with this.” He tugged at the bottom of it. “And possibly these.” His index finger found its way beneath the waistband of her pants.

“I think we should strip,” she said slightly breathless.

“Agreed.” His lips quirked into a grin.

Jerin moved away from her and made quick work of the rest of his buttons. As he worked on the buttons of the cuffs, she pulled her shirt over her head freeing her breasts from the built-in bra of the garment.

A sharp intake of breath, tinged with a touch of appreciation, caught her attention as she dropped the garment to the floor. Jerin stood, fly zipper undone, poised in the motion of lowering his jeans and underpants.

“They are lovelier than I imagined.”

The jeans and underpants descended to the floor, and he stepped out of them with the grace of a ballet dancer. The fluid movement seemed out of place on a man of his size.

“May I?” his hands stopped a scant inch from her budded and extended nipples.

  “Please do.”

The urge to lean into those warm, loving palms was more than she could handle, so she placed her hands on his shoulders. When he cradled her breasts in his palms and pinched her swollen nipples, it was all she could do to remain upright. To steady herself she tightened her grip on his shoulders. Sinew and muscle rippled beneath her fingertips as he moved his palms over the soft flesh on the outer side of her breasts, and then to her back.

The acutely sensitive tissue of her bosoms made contact with the smooth skin covering the pecs of his upper torso. A groan of pure delight vibrated down her throat and into her chest. As she pressed herself into the steal bands of his pectoral muscles, his hands roamed down her back. His fingers slid beneath the waistband of her pants and continued southward until they curled around the half-moons of her buttocks. He squeezed and pressed her into his impressive hard-on.

She moved her fingers to the back of his head and threaded them into the silky locks of his hair. Tilting her head she sought his lips. A whisper soft meeting of the lips preceded matching sighs of satisfaction. Jerin began a long trail of nips, licks and kisses as he lowered himself to his knees. The tight Lycra gave way to the gentle push and pull as he coaxed her pants to her knees, and then lower. The garment pooled at her feet, and she stepped out of it.

Kaley looked down. Jerin pressed his face into her navel and groaned. His hands moved to her ass and pressed her hips forward. Lingering there he breathed in her scent, kissed and tongued her belly button while his palms caressed the cheeks of her ass. An overwhelming feeling of joy and elation mingled with the heat building in the core of her being. She whimpered, and ran her fingers through the raven locks. Puffing short breaths as he tongued a path to the mound just above her most secret spot, his lips played with the neatly trimmed patch of curly coarse hair he found there, and finally came to rest at the apex of her clit. A primal sound vibrated thr
ough his throat and forced hot air onto the throbbing nub of her desire. She pressed his face closer, and he slipped his tongue into the slit. Her hips moved forward begging for more.

“Now I understand why it is so difficult to explain. It’s like my life before this moment was a hollow shell. You fill the emptiness and make me whole. There is no word to describe this heady all-encompassing feeling.”

With each word, she felt his lips tease her flesh.

  “Bliss.”

The tantalizing ministrations subsided. He seemed to be contemplating the word.

  “Yes, bliss.”

“Jerin, my knees are going to give out any moment. I think we should lie down.”

He rose to his full height exploring every curve as he did so.

“You are exquisite, my warrior goddess,” he said as he tilted her face to his.

“Why do you call me that?” The words came out on the breath of a whisper.

With a soft sigh and a twinkle in those glorious eyes he said, “When my eyes first beheld your beauty, you stood above me surrounded by the glow of the heavens. My head throbbed with the proof of your warrior’s prowess. Your spirit had laid me low and has since conquered my heart and soul. I am yours now and forever more.”

“That’s not exactly how it happened.”

“But, it is how the archives shall record it.”

“What do you mean ‘the archives’?”

“Later,” he said as his lips extinguished all coherent thought.

She didn’t recall him laying her on the bed, and was only now realizing that she was in the throes of the most passionate sexual experience of her life. Her entire being vibrated in a pitch it had never attained before. Each new sensation wrapped and entwined around emotions she hadn’t realized she possessed. She’d never had a problem enjoying sex, but this was so much more.

Once or twice, she’d fancied herself in love. Those sexual and emotional entanglements were nothing compared to what she was experiencing with this man.

Jerin’s touch spoke of gentle caring and wanton lust. His palm massaged her mons, and her hips rose and fell in response. When he slipped his finger between the protective flesh covering her clit, she nearly screamed with the pleasure of it. As hungry and impatient as she, he wasted no time and began exploring her moist depths. Her thighs opened in complete surrender. The slippery slurping sound of her wet pussy was a clear indication of her readiness and desire to copulate. When the undulating rhythm of her hips bucked out of control, and her cunt pulsed around his fingers, he said, “Yes, that’s it, love. Now, you are ready for me.”

Jerin rolled between her thighs and spread the lips to her vagina. “You are the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever beheld. An eternity of sharing this bliss will not come close to being enough. I want you forever more my love.” He lifted her legs spreading her thighs. While hovering above her, the head of his penis teased the outer lips of her womanhood. Dipping just inside the moist opening, the head of his cock picked up the lubrication he was searching for. He guided his shaft until it slid unerringly over her clit in a rhythm that mocked passionate love making. The underside of his shaft stroked her clit into a wild frenzy.

  “I need you now, Jerin.”

She would always remember the possessive and wild look in his eyes as he slowly lay claim to the inner recesses of her being. When totally sheathed, his body shuddered and she felt a corresponding spasm ripple through her being. It felt as though they had been joined, bound together, body and soul. They clung to each other, their eyes locked in cherished perusal and their bodies united in an intimate embrace. Neither of them could take a breath. In the following moments, it felt as if she had died and been born again. In her heart, she knew that he had experienced it too. Bliss barely described this feeling of completeness.

Jerin began to pump and make love to her in earnest. The guttural grunts and groans torn from the fibers of his being pushed her to ecstasy’s pinnacle. His physical release, the pulsing throb as he ejaculated, pushed her over the summit and into a void where sensation, physical and emotional, reigned, united in solidarity and dependent upon each other. Making love would never be the same again.

  Chapter Eight

“My aunt and uncle are due back tomorrow. I can’t wait until you meet them.”

“They can be the witnesses at our wedding.”

“We’ve known each other for less than two months, are you sure you want to marry me?”

Jerin knew that Kaley was the mate he would bring back to Setera with him. He hadn’t actually had a conversation about his mission with her yet. He thought she already understood. The daydream she’d had the day they met had told her of it. In the weeks since, he’d often wondered why they hadn’t been transported. Regardless, he could be happy spending the rest of his life here on Earth with Kaley if he had to. He loved her that much. He wanted to make her his in every way possible.

“I want to marry you here in your world and at home on Setera.”

“Don’t you mean ‘in’ Setera? Where exactly is Setera anyway? I’ve never heard of it.”

Now was as good a time as any to get things out in the open, once and for all. He had to know how she really felt.

“Do you remember the daydream you had the day we met?”

“As clearly as if it was two minutes ago.” She sighed and looked almost sad. “It is my heart’s desire.” Her breath hitched as she tried to control her emotions.

“Do you remember, I said that I could give you that life?”

“Yes, and you are. We are going to be married.”

“Your dream said that we would be married on Setera also.”

“So, is Setera an island or something?” Kaley looked over her shoulder as she was reaching into a kitchen cabinet putting the morning dishes away.

  “Not exactly.”

  So, she really didn’t understand.

“Kaley, come, sit down, there is something I need to tell you. We really have to get this straightened out.”

“You look really serious.” She wrinkled her brows with concern.

They both pulled chairs away from the table.

“I think I need to sit for this too.”

  “What is it, Jerin?”

God, she was looking at him with such trust and innocence. How was she going to take this? Only one way to find out, he reached across the table and took her hands into his.

“I am an alien. Setera is in the Onaris One solar system.”

She stared at him for a long moment and then laughed.

“You’re kidding, right?” She searched his face. “You don’t look like you are kidding.” She sounded frightened.

He squeezed her hands trying to reassure her.

“Is this some kind of a joke?” Her lips began to tremble.

He wanted to take her into his arms and comfort her, but he knew he shouldn’t. The truth was beginning to sink in.

“No, it’s not a joke.” He tried to sound reassuring.

“Then you’re a liar. You’ve been lying to me all this time.” Panic lived in every one of the words. Her face appeared horror stricken.

  “I don’t lie.”

He watched her struggle with her thoughts.

“I know that,” she said as her eyes closed and she slid off the chair and on to the floor.

He was out of his seat and by her side in an instant.

  “Kaley, Kaley.”

Jerin shook Kaley trying to bring her out of her faint. He didn’t think she was the type to faint. A deeper worry began to bloom in the back of his mind. Smelling salts, that’s what he needed. A quick search provided no results. He put ammonia under her nose instead. When that failed, he tried splashing her with water, to no avail. He began to panic. Something was terribly wrong.

Thankfully, the doctor’s number was on the refrigerator. He tried to keep the despair and fear out of his voice when he called. Judging by the concern in the doctor’s tone, and the way he reassured him th
at he would be there immediately, Jerin wasn’t sure he’d succeeded.

He gathered Kaley into his arms and took her to her bedroom. He lay her on the bed and began to impatiently wait.

He prowled the room, back and forth as if in a cage. Anxiety and fear consumed him. He felt helpless. Forty-five minutes later, when the doctor knocked on the door, he behaved like the caged animal that he resembled as he’d paced.

  “It’s about time!” he growled.

He grabbed the doctor’s arm and yanked him through the door.

“Now, just a minute there, son.”

“I’m sorry.” Realizing his lapse in judgment, Jerin released the doctor’s arm and pulled himself together. “Please, come this way. As I said on the phone, she’s fainted and hasn’t come to. I don’t know what’s wrong.”

“Hmm… Take me to her,” the doctor mumbled.

  “Right this way, sir.”

The doctor touched and examined Kaley as Jerin recounted the events that had taken place just before Kaley fainted.

“Did she hit her head on the floor?”

“No, I don’t think so. She just sort of slid off the chair. Maybe her head hit the chair, but I don’t recall it happening.”

“Has something traumatic happened to her in the last few days? Some sort of shock, or maybe she’s had some bad news from home?”

He couldn’t very well tell the doctor what they’d been discussing.

“She may have, although I can’t say what it might have been.”

“Hmm….” The doctor scratched his chin.

“I’d like to take her to the hospital, run some tests and get to the bottom of this.”

  “Anything you say, Doctor.”

  “I’ll call for an ambulance.”

Jerin had been sitting near the bed. He took Kaley’s hand in his. “We’re getting married. Please tell me she will be all right.” He refused to believe he’d lost her.

“I was under the impression that the two of you had just met.”

“We did. We just clicked, somehow we ‘just knew’ we were meant to be together. We were going to tell Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood when they come home tomorrow. I don’t know what I can tell them now.”
